Let Us Love One Another
2007-06-02 19:35
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1 John 4:7-8).

A prophet said about those who only receive but don't give love, "Yes, they are greedy dogs Which never have enough. And they are shepherds Who cannot understand; They all look to their own way, Every one for his own gain, From his own territory. 'Come,' one says, 'I will bring wine, And we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink; Tomorrow will be as today, And much more abundant.'" (Isaiah 56:11-12).

As the prophet said, those who only receive love are like dogs; they only receive but don't give grace. God gave His only begotten Son to the world so that whoever receives the love should give the love.

That is the framework of salvation that God destined in Christ Jesus before the creation of the world. If any salvation doesn't fit into this framework, it is false.

God gave His life to His beloved Son so that the Son should give the life to many people in His love. That is the will of God which is in Christ Jesus.

Love is the commandment that the Son received from the Father. It is the commandment of the Father, of the Son and of us. The sons of God keep the commandment. This is the commandment: we should give love as we received it. It is written, "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." (John 14:21).

Salvation is accomplished not in receiving love but in giving love. The Bible says, "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." (1 John 3:16). If we love one another, it is true that we love Christ. It is because the dearly loved brothers are the body of Christ.

The Bible says about it, "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." (Ephesians 5:1-2). And also, "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." (1 John 3:16).

Therefore, the Lord said, "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love." (John 15:10). And also, "And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him." (1 John 4:16).

God is love, and love is light. Therefore, the children of love are the children of light. Those who don't have love are not the children of God although they say they believe in God. The Bible clearly says about it, "In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother." (1 John 3:10).

The kingdom of God which God dwells in is nowhere but within those who know love and love one another. Therefore, "whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." Amen. Thank you, Lord.
