Eternal Gospel

The Lord Redeemed Us to God by His Blood
2004-03-09 13:50
Blood is life. This is the will of God: that He lays down one life to save many lives. Jesus became a man to fulfill the will of God. He obtained eternal redemption by shedding of blood, laying down his life. It is written about the day when the amazing thing happened, "It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two (Luke 23:44-45)."

God could not bear to see the death of his son. So the sun stopped shining from noon to 3 pm, and the curtain of the temple, which is his body, was torn in two. It is written, "by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body (Hebrews 10:20)." The way into the Most Holy Place was opened by that work.

A kernel of wheat falled to the ground and died shedding its blood in order to produce many seeds. Many people can live new lives with the price of blood. Therefore, only the kernel of wheat is the origin of many seeds.

In the past it was written, "For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life (Leviticus 17:11)." At that time, it was the blood of animals, but now it is the blood of man. The blood of animals was offered in the order of Aaron, but the blood of man was offered in the order of Melchizedek. Without the blood of man there is no atonement for the life of man.

But atonement cannot be made for the land on which that blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it. It is written, "Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it (Numbers 35:33)." To fulfill the prophecy, we must shed our blood and die with him.

It is testified, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20)."

The Bible says, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body (Corinthians 6:19-20)." And again, "And they sang a new song: 'You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth (Revelation 5:9-10).'"

The blood of Christ is the blood of God because Christ is the Son of God and the Son and the Father are one. The blood of the Son is the blood of the Father, as it is written, "For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself (John 5:26)."

The Bible exhorts the servants of the house of God, "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood (Acts 20:28)."

The knowledge of the truth, that is, the knowledge of the church of God which He purchased with His own blood surpasses everything. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in the mystery of God, namely, Christ.

The Bible says, "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent (John 17:3)." And also an apostle says, "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming (Ephesians 4:13-14)."

Therefore, Christ's people who shed their blood and died with him become one with him. It is written, "I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me (John 17:22-23)." Shedding our blood and our dying with him is the glory given to us. If we died with him ... Amen. Thank you, Lord.
