Son of Man, Can These Bones Live?
It is written, "By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible." (Hebrews 11:3). Anything in heaven or on the earth--the worlds that were formed by the word of God--are seen, but the only true God, who made heaven and earth, is not visible. And so it is said, "What is seen was not made out of what was visible."
Therefore, the Bible said, "who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen." (1 Timothy 6:16). And again, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17).
It is written, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. (John 1:1-4). The life in the Word is the true life, and that life is the true light of men.
Therefore, if anyone does not have life and light, he is dead--dry bones. The Bible said, "And Joseph made the sons of Israel swear an oath and said, 'God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place.'" (Genesis 50:25). Those words have this meaning, "The man, the image of God, lived a life in the light below. When the light ended, he was decayed and became bones. But the bones want to live again in the Word and light above and to be united with the Eternal God through the light, having eternal life."
Through the law all men died to the law. Though they want to live again, God is hiding his face and the Word of God is bound up. And so they are now dry bones of Egypt--the bones of Joseph. It is written, "Bind up the testimony and seal up the law among my disciples. I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob. I will put my trust in him." (Isaiah 8:16-17).
Therefore, the Bible said, "Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the sons of Israel swear an oath. He had said, 'God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place." (Exodus 13:19). The bones are to rise to live through the light of the Word of Christ, the last Adam.
It is written, "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out--those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned." (John 5:28-29).
Therefore, those who are in Christ Jesus are the bones who wait for the true light and hope in him. It is written, "Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). Here they crucified him, and with him two others--one on each side and Jesus in the middle." (John 19:17-18).
Therefore, the testimony of God was revealed in the Bible, "The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' I said, 'O Sovereign LORD, you alone know.' Then he said to me, 'Prophesy to these bones and say to them, Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, 'Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet--a vast army." (Ezekiel 37:1-10).
And again it is written, "Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them." (Ezekiel 37:13).
To us who have passed through the death on the cross and have become the carcass in the grave and have become the bones, the words of eternal life says, "Can these bones live?" And also to us these words will be fulfilled, "So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet--a vast army." That is the testimony of Jesus, who said, "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing."
"...For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." Amen. Thank you, Lord. (Revelation 19:10).
